On December 15, members of the PR Book Club met to talk about Frank Beddor's The Looking Glass Wars. Bibwit Harte, one of the characters in this novel, provided some profound statements for us to discuss. For example, what is the role of imagination in our lives and also how we might choose our friends. Do we surround ourselves by people who have the same amount of intelligence and education we have? Or is it something different like one's perspective or ambition?
Besides enjoying the cookies, candy canes, and conversation, we also built a tree out of rarely-used reference books. And, no, we didn't play Jenga after.
Over break, we'll be reading (among other books such as the Chaos Walking series and the Inheritance series) The Likeness by Tana French in preparation for our Jan. 5 meeting.
