Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty
Throughout the novel, Sloppy Firsts does a wonderful job explaining and expanding ideas geared toward high school students. It gives a new perspective on how high school is viewed and shows the main character, Jessie, basically hates most everything about high school. she is a very likable character and definitely keep the ages turning within the novel itself. This book is a great break from sophisticated, hard level reading and it driven towards a younger crowd going through many similar situations. If you are the type of person who loves fiction novels, and are very emotional, i highly recommend this book. Megan Mccafferty does a great job depicting certain issues within a high school community and i no doubt believe that some high schools could learn a thing or two from it. I rate it a 9 out of 10 on my scale, and definitely would recommend this novel hands down. - Kelly M., class of 2012
